I have been thinking a lot about upcoming events that I will be presenting at, including our retreat. It has my head spinning with thoughts and ideas that I am exploring. It is necessary to seek personal revelation, confirmation and help from the spirit as we work to implement new "spiritual technology" or gifts into our lives and our work. As I have talked with so many people, and as this "energy healing" thing has exploded in popularity lately, I see that because learning is hard and often tedious, some are choosing the easy way. They want easy explanations and easy, fast tools, an instant download of magical gifts and abilities or knowledge. They say "I prayed about it and asked for it, but I didn't get it. This must not be right." But where is your responsibility? Where is your effort? Is your desire to search and receive, more powerful than your desire for easy?
There are laws laid out for us. There are proper ways of acquiring all that we desire. I love this quote. "For each of you to receive revelation unique to your own needs and responsibilities, certain guidelines prevail. The Lord asks you to develop “faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God.” Then with your firm “faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, [and] diligence,” you may ask, and you will receive; you may knock, and it will be opened unto you."
